My husband and I married last summer in New Orleans, and took a 3 week road trip honeymoon, from New Orleans to DC. Such a wonderful trip!
Our one year anniversary is coming up soon, and we will spend it in New Orleans. However, we have an entire week of time off, so we thought we'd return to cajun country for a few days, as we were only able to stay 2 nights there on our honeymoon due to hotel reservations in other cities. We really loved it and want to see more of it. We had some amazing meals, which we found through friends and the indespensible "Cajun Country Guide" by Macon Fry and Julie Posner. We loved Cafe des Amies in Breaux Bridge and also Vermillionville Inn in Lafayette, and of course all the homemade boudin sold in the small shops in the smaller towns (New Iberia, etc).
We put no thought into where we'd stay on our last trip, as our plan was just to meander around and eat and find a place to sleep. This time, we might like to think it through a little more. So--if there's someone out there who knows a lot about this part of LA, I'd love to hear from you. WOuld love to know about interesting places to stay and places to eat!
Thanks for any help,
