I just returned from an eating tour of Louisiana. WOW! 3 weeks of gorging. I'm back but I've returned with an addiction, "boo-dan". They say that a Cajun 7 course meal is boudin and a six pack of beer.
Boudin is a steamed sausage stuffed with rice, onion, spices and traditionally pork. Better yet these days you can get crawfish boudin and shrimp boudin.
You buy boudin in neighborhood meat markets similar to delis and most of the time you eat it in the parking lot. You don't eat the casing you kinda bite and squeeze the meat out.
I brought some back packed in dry ice and it looks like boudin can be ordered online but is there anywhere on Los Angeles that serves boudin? An old post mentioned Leimert Park. Ill drive anywhere but Im in Studio City.
P.S. Can you get Abita Beer and Mulates Beer anywhere in L.A.
