Six of us had lunch yesterday at Caffe Grazie (Italian restaurant). I made a reservation on opentable.com, called to confirm and then asked the restaurant if we could have an upstairs table (as it looked nicer than downstairs from online pix), reservationist said no problem.
We arrived fifteen minutes early and were seated immediately upstairs in the back room (they have two rooms upstairs, and I think the back is nicer and more private). Excellent table. We were very pleased, and our meal all around was good too!
I was curious about a three-course "Bento Box" special listed on the restaurant's online menu, did not see it on the menu and was told it is only offered during the week, not on weekends.... oh well. Our gang ordered a variety of lunch items from burgers (thick, juicy, decent thin cut fries), to chicken ceaser salad (plentiful, nicely done). I chose linguine with Bolognese sauce. It was good...not the best I've had...but a decent version and a large enough portion that I needed to turn the bowl over to my husband to clean it up. Others in our group had a chicken breast sandwich, and a sandwich with prosciutto and other items. No complaints. All said their meals were good. A few of us had wine by the glass which was also what it should be. I had diet coke with lemon and it was fine as well.
We didn't stay for coffee and dessert as we had things to do and were going in different directions. Prices were reasonable by NYC standards. Service was pleasant and efficient.
This restaurant is near the Metropolitan Museum of Art and is convenient for a Museum-goer's lunch. As for dinner, I don't know....It's probably not special enough for me... but for lunch, I would definitely return.
