Cafe Tu Tu Tango

Last weekend I was in Orlando for a couple rounds of golf and a celebratory Saturday meal. After both Bill and Bob recommended Cafe Tu Tu Tango, I decided that would be the place to go. What a unique and refreshing experience. The scene could be described as eclectic hip. Between the art(ranging from intricate landscapes to cartoonish red manatees), the music(at a perfect level, you definitely knew it was there but it wasn't too loud to drown out conversations), and the belly dancing(a 10 year old girl simutaneously spinning 30 hula hoops) it was a perfect place for a party. Our waitress kept it fun always smiling and dancing. The restaurant was mobbed but she always found us in time to refresh our drinks(the sangria was great). The tapas were very good. We started with a round of gyros burgers, got some seared ahi tuna, potstickers, white pizza, sloppy jose quesadilla, habanero wings, and a few others. The diverse menu was enough to please everyone including the picky eaters in the group. After several rounds of Sangria and tapas the girls were up on the table dancing with the waitress. It was a great experience and a special thanks to Bill and Bob for the recommendation. Sunday night we went to Portobello in downtown Disney. It was much less impressive. The creamy parmesean farfalle was bland, the ribeye ordered medium came out gray, and the house seafood dish was average at best. I did enjoy the garlic bulb they brought out to start the meal. It was disappointing however to spend that kind of money on Italian that was uninspired.
