Cafe Sarmish(Midwood)-report

Mike R. | Jun 3, 2003 01:29 AM

Even though most diners had their hands wrapped around bottles of Stoly and other alky delights awaiting the Saturday night show, we found the Cafe Sarmish (Coney Island Avenue & Avenue H, right by the Kent Theatre) serves up some Russian delights; liked their fresh garden salad, eggplant salad (exceptionally herbed & spiced), a golden'n'greasy samsa pastry filled with lamb & onions, tender rich liver kebabs and satisfying chicken and lamb skewers.

Mashed potatoes needed a dollop of butter...fries were better.

Anyone else have experience here?
