Cafe Posada, Gilbert

I've lived by this little place for 3 years now, and always told my HB that we need to try it. Last night was the night...and I'm really glad we did!
Cafe Posada is on the corner of Ray and Gilbert roads. A little tiny place that serves mexican fare.
We didn't know what to expect, but the parking lot was pretty full.
The complimentary chips and salsa wasn't your regular salsa. This was a poblano salsa that was rich and tasty, with a little kick to it. Started off with the appetizer sampler that had 3 mexican potato skins, 3 stuffed jalapenos, 3 mini chimis, and 6 nachos, which were chips smothered in cheese and japs. It was really good. The plate came with 3 was a sweet chili sauce for the stuffed japs, which was very tasty, a small dish of sour cream, and another dish of what I can only describe as ranch dressing with japs in was WONDERFUL!
The menu was pretty much standard mexican dishes, but they did have sour cream chicken enchiladas that were smothered in a jalapeno cream cheese sauce. Very good and slightly spicy.
HB got the chicken posada which was 3 tortilllas stuffed with marinated chicken and spices, then deep fried and covered with jack cheese and green chili. That dish was SO good!
We wanted to try dessert, but we were so full.
They do have a full bar for margaritas and they had Corona on tap.
We will be back to Cafe Posada in the future!
