I just had a delightful lunch at a tiny little place in N. Scottsdale called Cafe Paris, and I thought I'd write about it. It's a great place for a quick and delicious lunch if you're in the Scottsdale Airpark area, which is where I work. It not NOT destination dining and it has no atmosphere at all.
It located in the design center just south of Costco on Hayden, next to the Frazee Paint store. It's a husband and wife owned place with a small menu...sandwiches, paninis and various specials. Today's specials were a chicken paillard risotto and a salmon tart.
I had the Italian Panini which was delicious...fresh mozarella, procuitto, and pesto. My dad had the chicken risotto which was absolutely phenomenal. It was $9! Get the same thing at Zinc Bistro and it would be $25, and this was probably better. Everything came with either a green salad (yummy homemade dressing), chips, taboule, or fruit salad. They also have a ratatouille and gratin dauphinois that I'm dying to try next time.
They also serve breakfast - pancackes, crepes, omelettes and the requisite breakfast burrito!
They also have entrees.....like Lasagna, Chicken Cordon Bleu, Chicken Provencale, Coq au Vin and Beef Bourguignon. I'll try those next time.
They are not open for dinner, but will package entrees for you to take home as prepared meals.
I spoke to the chef....a nice young guy from Paris and as friendly as can be. I don't know if they'll survive in this tucked-away location but I thought the food was fantastic and the service friendly (and genuine), so what more could you really ask for?
They also make their own pastries, ranging from tarts to wedding cakes and they will cater also.
I could find a place link so here is the info:
