Cafe Paraiso in Atwater

A second review of this lovely little Brazilian restaurant that is a couple of months old, on Glendale Blvd in the heart of Atwater, just south of Bikram Silverlake and the cool little Italian place, Osteria or something, which I can never remember.

The food was really good. Strangely enough, my friend and I ordered the exact same things as in the earlier review, the Chicken Stroganoff and the grilled chicken breast. (I did not see the review until tonight.) The Stroganoff was wonderful. Different, spicy, creamy – I am not always the best at descriptions - we both thought it was original and tasty. My chicken, smothered in onions, was also top notch. Yes, the black beans were some of the best I have ever had. And they had an incredible salsa, very tangy, and odd, with just the right amount of spice, that you can put on anything. We had a great time.

This is truly the kind of neighborhood joint Chowhounds should get behind. If anyone lives near enough to give it a try, please do, and let us know what you think.
