Cafe Habana 21st St. Lots of food and good too

Steve R | Sep 5, 2002 09:56 PM

Tonight a friend and I went to Cafe Habana on 21st St between Chestnut and Sansom. It was empty at 6pm. Only one other table by 7:15.

Bartender was chatyy and fun (from Rio). The waiter was very enthusiastic and Cuban.

All entrees are large and served with saffron rice (or white), Vegatable and Plantains. We had the traditional long marinated shredded rost pork and it was large. At $14.50 it was a fair price. And tasty.

Menu ranges from $12.50 to $17.50. I'm told they have live music the Second Friday of every month.

Anyway, it was panned in Zagats and I was plesently surprised.

Will get to Mixto soon I hope.
