Cafe Frankie, Excellent Italian in Boyton Beach

edberliner | Jul 17, 201606:06 AM

We ate at Café Frankie in Boyton Beach and loved it. By way of explanation I generally think that the restaurants in this area are average at best. I came here from Austin, Texas which has an amazing restaurant scene so I can only compare those here to those there. After two years I have found a place that matches some of the best in my old home town, and to which I will make the 45 minute drive often. Café Frankie is nondescript at best, but comfortable. We chose indoor dining because it was hot outside, and I'm not a big fan of overlooking a parking lot. Inside was quite comfortable and the noise level was low. There is a bar and a small seating area. The wait staff is excellent, and the theatrical presentation of the specials by several different waitresses made for a very amusing start to a lovely meal. The specials all looked interesting and I chose a crab stuffed ravioli in vodka sauce. My wife had the pistachio crusted yellow tail as did a third member of the party, and his wife chose the bone in pork chop parmesan. Everyone loved their choice. I devoured mine. The vodka sauce was spectacular and the ravioli looked and tasted homemade. The crab was somewhat overpowered by the sauce, but that certainly wasn't a problem. We had appetizers and drinks elsewhere prior to our reservation so we didn't really get to sample enough of the offerings to make an overall rating, but I'd say the ravioli is the best I've had. I recommend you try Café Frankie sooner rather than later
