Cafe Descours - Houston

Has anyone else out there tried this place out? It was fantastic! Its located on Wirt Road, in a shopping center next door to Patisserie Descours - which is open daily (maybe not Sundays). The Cafe serves dinner only, and I will definetly be back. We went on a Tuesday night, and the place was virtually empty at 7PM - which was fine by us. It was very nicely decorated, and the service was great from the start. We received knowledgeable recommendations from our very friendly French waiter, and nothing on the menu was over $20 (I think). We started out with a great bottle of wine, and a type of cheese pastry that was so delicious! I had a bouillabaisse with Shrimp, Crab fingers, monkfish and vegetables - YUM. I'd never been very experimental with French food, but I really enjoyed it. My boyfriend had the roasted duck in a green peppercorn sauce, over wild rice. I am not a big fan of duck, but I'd eat that over a steak any day of the week - it was beautifully prepared. We really enjoyed the ambiance of the place, and we were not rushed at all! For dessert, I had croissant bread pudding with creme anglais (sp?) and my boyfriend had creme brulee. We were in awe of the entire experience. Definetly one of the best meals I've ever had - and we spent about $85 before tip! For the quality of the food, and the value - you must try it out.
