This place just opened up across from Din Ho and next door to the post office on 183, so I thought I'd give it a try today for lunch.
Cute little place with a few tables and a display case with a dizzying array of desserts, one was even a sugar-free chocolate torte that I'll have to try next time. They also have a large selection of fresh-squeezed juices (sugar cane juice?!).
They have sandwiches, bagels, wraps, salads and banh mi. I asked the girl behind the counter what she liked most and she suggested the Gourmet Banh Mi.
French bread had wonderfully crunchy crust with a soft, chewey center. Sandwich had thin slices of several types of meat, including pate and cured meats. It had all the typical toppings for a banh mi, including carrots, cilantro, jalapenos and a very tasty homemade mayo. The thing was easily a foot long, so I shared with a co-worker. We both agreed it was a really good sandwich...and a steal at under $4.
I will absolutely go back and try some of the more "american" sandwiches they offer and that chocolate torte has my name on it.
