I just ordered a Milk Tea Chiffon cake from Cafe Cakes in Belmont. It was outstanding. The cake batter was extremely light, barely sweet, and intensely flavorful due to the whole earl gray tea leaves. They were slighly chewy and had a similar effect poppy seeds have in baked goods. The icing was earl gray flavored whipped cream that was also light, barely sweet, and quite addictive.
Unfortunately the milk tea cake is not available by the slice, but if you want to get an idea of its flavor, try their milk tea pudding (it's a tea flavored panna cotta like custard) available in little cups for $1.60. The whole milk tea cake (serves 12) is $27.
I also tried their chocolate cake, and white cake with chocolate whipped cream and candied walnuts. They were both excellent, but not as life-changing as the milk tea cake.
Cafe Cakes does cakes as well as Petsi Pies does pies :)
