We actually stumbled upon this place by accident. We were planning on going to Cafe Soleil for Vietnamese sandwiches, but when we drove up, it had morphed into Cafe Amore. My husband went in and checked it out while I stayed in the car - I was thinking he would just grab a menu & we'd come back some time. Well, he came out and said 'let's eat!'. We went in, and met Antonio - the owner, originally from Trieste, Italy. He made us an incredible brunch. He made me fried eggs with pancetta along with some homemade bread; same thing for my husband except he had Italian sausage not pancetta. For dessert, Tiramisu Antonio made himself. It was incredible, the best Tiramisu I've ever had. We decided we'd have to return some time again. My husband called up Antonio, and he made a 5 course meal for my birthday last week. A wine dinner (he is waiting on a liquor license, so its BYOB right now). My husband got the bottles of wine Antonio recommended from Spec's, and we were set for a great meal.
First Course: Seared scallops, Belgian endive, orange zest & a little thyme.
Second Course: Saffron Risotto with asparagus
Third Course: Homemade ravioli stuffed with mozzarella/ brandy cream sauce had italian sausage, tomatoes, black olives, capers and some pumpkin seeds for a garnish.
Fourth Course: Oven roasted pork loin wrapped in honey pancetta, slowly braised in a red wine sauce (sliced & served atop a whole porcini mushroom)
Fifth Course: Pineapple/Mango granita and limoncello cake (made by his aunt).
The meal was incredible, price was about $115 - $130 before tip. The man can cook - well. He is just getting started in this location, and we actually were the first people to have a 'wine dinner' there. He cooked it all, bussed our table and waited on us. This place will be even better when he gets going. They are in the process of getting the place renovated/set up - it still looks like Cafe Soleil on the inside (it will also be a wine cafe, carrying some wines from his family's vineyard in Italy & many other rotating selections). I highly recommend it. Worth every penny. Stop by and chat him up, he's a very nice hard-working man, and I see success for him out here in the land-o-chain restaurants. The food is original, exciting and cooked from the heart. We will be regulars, for sure. Its on Louetta past the HP complex, not sure the exact address.
