Cafe Abo, San Francisco, Mission District

Inspired by a few mentions on this board regarding Cafe Abo, I stopped by for lunch on Friday. (Thanks Windy!) Great food in a cool, very laid back setting. I had the antipasto plate, and a cup of soup. Antipasto plate had the perfect amount of many different tastes .... salami, tuna, a fig, olives, bread covered with ricotta, peppers. I really enjoyed it.

The rest of the menu features many organic ingredients, pastas, pizzas, fresh lemonade, strauss dairy products.

Overheard the owner talking about how he is closing for three months, starting in September, and he may choose to keep the restaurant closed permanently. Just a note for anyone who wants to check it out before then!

Their hours are a little funny -- while their posted times showed they should be open on Saturday, I tried to take J there for lunch only to be met with a sign that said "closing at noon today". If you have your heart set on going, I would suggest calling first to make sure they're open.
