Welcome to April! Spring is in the air, in the form of pollen everywhere. We have a great dish to play with this month, the CAESAR SALAD. Traditionally a very simple salad of romaine, croutons, and parmesan cheese, with a dressing that features egg yolk and anchovy, the Caesar salad is said to have originated at Caesar's Restaurant in Tijuana (except the original apparently did not have anchovies, except for in the Worcestershire sauce in the dressing). For DOTM purposes, we're throwing tradition out the window. I'm not even going to try to define exactly what makes a salad a Caesar... to paraphrase Supreme Court Justice Potter Stewart, we'll know it when we see it.
To report on a version of the dish, start with the title and source, if there is one. If you find a recipe online, please provide a link. When using a recipe written by someone else, do not copy the recipe verbatim, per Chowhound rules. A summary of the recipe in your own words is fine and encouraged. Pictures are always welcomed, but if you neglect to take one, we're happy to get your report even without visual aids.
