cactus honey

Saw the post on truffle honey, which reminded me...

I saw a cooking show today where "cactus honey" (well it was in Spanish so it was really "miel de cactus") was an ingredient in a sauce made from pitahaya. It looked like everyday honey...

Does anyone know what the story with this ingredient? Is it Mexican? Central American? Is it a derivative of cactus or is it honey made from bees that frequent cactus flowers? Too bad that I missed the first 15 minutes when all of this would have been explained.
