Looking for a quick meal last night in Del Ray, I tried out the Caboose Cafe on Mt. Vernon.
I had had breakfast there a few times, but they've added a pretty extensive dinner menu, with some usual stuff like pastas, paninis, but most interestingly Ethiopian dishes.
I tried out the Tekel Goman (cabbage with potatoes and onions). It came on the typical Ethiopian platter with injera. Pretty generous portion, though perhaps not enough potato in the mix, but tasty, with sides of spicy bean mash and greens. I left happy and full for not much money. As far as I know the only Ethiopian food in that area.
I'd be curious if others have tried anything else on the menu.
