I went to Cabana in FH last night (off Austin).

I like the place a lot - fun atmosphere (bright colors), pleasant service.

We ordered the Bachillo platter - Conch and Veggie fritters, Jerk Chicken wings and Beef Patties. I liked everything, especially the patties. The wings were good, but they were more cinnamon tasting than hot and spicy.

We also ordered the arepa con queso. Not bad, but the cheese was not melted and thrown on top of the arepa. There are some places in Astoria that have the cheese melted in the center - much better.

For dinner, the arroz con pollo was excellent - a lot for the money. The jerk pork was great - nice lean pork with the same jerk as the wings with jasime rice and beans. Nice flavor and contrasts.

We had no room for dessert, but the Red Sangria was pretty good.
