There's a not-so-hidden thread that underlies many postings here - a preference for BYOB's over places with liquor licenses.
Dare I say it? I actually tend to avoid BYOB's. If I'm going out for a nice meal, I like to be able to get a cocktail before dinner (and a liqueur after, if I'm so inclined). I like not having to carry bottles of wine around. I like not feeling that my menu options are limited by the wine(s) I brought.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not looking to start a fight. I certainly understand the BYOB advantage - you can save a lot of money (or, alternatively, you can take the $30 you'd pay for a $12 bottle at the restaurant and really splurge). So I get it. But I'm wondering, does anyone else out there feel the same way I do?
