We are looking to buy a range for a new house. It came with a very old (80's) electric coil stove. Current ventilation is an over the range microwave, with convection bake option.
Our budget is up to $2,000.
- Is convection a good improvement for a gas oven? We figure $500 for a basic gas range, or $1000 for gas with convection.
- Is dual fuel a worthwhile improvement? I see only one option in this price range, around $1500.
- Do I need to change the ventilation? I'm not really attached to having a microwave (unless the convection bake is worthwhile). If so, roughly how much does it cost to have that done with a basic hood?
