I've long avoided buying salmon labelled as "wild" in NYC, figuring that I was being conned or that, at least, it wouldn't neccessarily taste dramatically better.. Indeed, the NY Times did a big piece a month or two ago confirmning that most markets -- even high-end places -- were mislabelling farmed salmon as wild and jacking up the price.
But the critters are running out West and that have me reflecting on heavenly salmon I've eaten while in Seattle. So, short of heading for Seattle or ordering salmon shipped to me at some outrageous price from Washington, is there anyplace you'd go in New York for wild salmon?? Or is it just stupid for me to even contemplate??
