Where to buy high quality beef.

Hi all,

Growing up in West Los Angeles, I was happy being able to purchase great meat (and fairly priced too) at Superior Meat on Pico Blvd. They shut their doors ages ago, and since then I tend to bounce around from butcher to butcher. I've splurged on prime dry aged beef from Bristol Farms, but they are super expensive. Harvey Guss has been a good source, and more fairly priced, but you have to order a day in advance, as the bulk of his business is to restaurants. I'm just curious if I'm missing a good source for consistently high quality meat. A place where I can walk in to purchase as desired. I know that there lots of venues where you can have steaks shipped to your door from places such as Lobel's (also super pricey), but I want to know of local places. I live in Sherman Oaks, but I'll drive anywhere within reason.

Thanks for your help,
