Butterfish - thanks!

Just wanted to thank the folks who recommended Butterfish in West Chester. Very good seafood there, we all had a very pleasant meal, including the two people who don't like "fishy" fish.

I had two smoked fish - Norway salmon and rainbow trout - and butterfish for my entree (come on, I had to). The trout was delicious, the salmon tender and also tasty. The butterfish is in a beurre blanc, so you have buttery fish with butter on top, which is just insane. But it's really not overdone, you get very good flavors from it, and the ginger in the beurre blanc, and the green apple salad.

My companions had the steak and shrimp, the crab-encrusted trout, and the cod special. The cod and trout were both awfully tasty and I thought the chef was able to bring out the flavors of each in a very individual way. Various desserts also appeared, then disappeared.

One thing we all noticed after was that we were stuffed. The portions are generous. Between the size and the taste you're getting your money's worth: we paid $50 per person at the end of the night. It's BYOB so we spent about 30 bucks on wine that otherwise would have added $80 to the tab.

I hope these guys do very well; they have enormous potential.
