Another butter question

Recently when i have been beating butter with an electric mixer, it is been beading up instead of creating a smooth texture. I am wondering if this is due to the my switch to organic butter. It becomes kind of lumpy which has never happened to me before. has anyone else experienced this? Whatever i am making generally turns out fine but i am a bit confused.
