Strangely enough, I always remembered NYC as being so bustling, with every restaurant we visited being packed with merry diners, bars overflowing as people waited outside. Now that I live here, it doesn't seem to occur that often. My friend really loves places like that and wants to feel that NYC is as bustling as ever.
So looking for some thoughts on restaurants. She's not as picky about food as the rest of us here are, but I'd like it to at least be decent/ good.
My ideas so far for busy places:
Tavern on the Green -- maybe we'll walk by but I don't want to eat there again
Carmine's -- same as above, maybe we'll walk in and have a glass of wine
Soup Kitchen -- to walk by and see the long line of people outside even in the rain
Joe's, Little Italy -- for a slice
Somewhere in Chinatown brimming with diners???????
The Four Seasons Lounge -- always packed after work
Grand Central Oyster Bar at lunch
Spice Market, Balthazar, Pastis
A very busy deli/ diner -- and not one just busy with tourists!
Hopefully, there are other ideas.... thank you!
