The Burrito King

John Beadle | May 24, 2003 09:53 AM

There was an article in last Sunday's New York Times about the legendary Burrito King chain. Sorry to hear that it's fallen on hard times. I lived in Los Angeles for three years from '72-'75, the first two in Silverlake, and the original stand at Sunset and Alvarado was my Mecca. The article has a picture of the stand - it's hardly changed in all this time! Although I haven't been in LA for 28 years, I still now and then wake up in the middle of the night with a craving for a Burrito King Machaca burrito - what the hell did they put in those things?

BURRITO KING RULES!!!
