Burlington: One good; one not so good

We were up in Burlington a few weeks back. Had dinner at The Five Spice Grill (sic), which had gotten some pretty good comments. We were disappointed. Our first clue was the fact that there wasn't an Oriental face in sight, not among the diners, nor among the servers, nor among the people in the kitchen. No problem with the service or the atmosphere, but what came out of the kitchen looked like "let's follow an asian recipe and see what we can make". Very amateurish and not very tasty, yet the prices were more than one would pay in a good Chinese or Asian restaurant. BUT we did go to Penny Cluze for lunch and heartily agree with the fine things that others have had to say about the place. Creative, tasty, and well worth the price. We'll be back for breakfast and look forward to another pleasant visit. Also plan to visit NECI on the same trip. Possibly others if time permits.
