Figured I'd write up a weekend trip since the info on Burlington is so old. In fact, one of the last ones was from my visit of 2016. In any case, even tho we stayed next to Al's French Frys, we sadly didn't make it there. Thurs. evening we started at Orlando's where my friend was very psyched that Jailai IPAs were on happy hour for $5. I got an old fashioned and we split some supposedly seasoned tater tots. Most of that seasoning was a ton of salt but there was a good choice of sauces and they served the purpose of holding us over til dinner at the Gryphon. What a nice room and nice service. Nice service everywhere during the weekend (also in Sherbrooke and Dunham Quebec). We split duck quesadillas and a nice shrimp and grits dish (about $13 ea) while friends got a burger and salad. Everyone seemed happy. Walked around downtown some more and maybe stopped in somewhere else but that was that. Friday we got breakfast at Henry's Diner where we split a western omelette and pancake. Walked by the lake, did some record shopping, did a tasting at Smuggler's Notch Distilling in town (lots of interesting things to try), piddled around until meeting friends in the late afternoon at Mule Bar in Winooski. Great place if you're a beer person. I enjoyed my daiquiri and the rabbit sausage sandwich w/ mixed greens we got was excellent ($12).

The plan was for that snack to hold us over to get the deal at Leunig's ($21 meal for first and last hour of service). We got a drink at Mad River Distillery and there was a pierogi pop up (a Fri. thing I guess) so took our time there but when we got to Leunig's at 10:05, we were told the kitchen was closed. Yelp said 11 on weekends and their own site is one of those "til close" things, so we were SOL. But plan B at the Farmhouse worked out. Great waiter, awesome biscuits and split a tasty and maybe slightly healthier meat loaf. Not many people there at that point but thankfully we were able to find some nice food. Ended at the divey Esox.

So just a few things during the 36 hours in town but thought we should update Burl. a little.
