Hi Boston Chowhounds!
You might remember us from the San Francisco board, or perhaps the International board during our year in Paris and Florence, or even the Toronto board. Now that we're back in the US, we've settled in Boston, right on Salem St. in the North End.
It's heaven. Fresh basil for $1.50 a pound makes for practically free homemade pesto. The little pasta place Al Dente (Salem St.) has adopted us as new sons (they make good, cheep bowls of pasta, too, including a mean pesto of their own). We've learned to walk past Mike's Pastry and indulge at Modern. We love Boston.
First things first--Limster, fellow former-SF chowhound and friend--let's have lunch! We can finally select a date and time. Perhaps you can show us something you love in Chinatown? We haven't been there yet.
That's right, haven't been to Chinatown yet. Or the Backbay. Or South Boston. We've just moved in! Get us started with some local secrets we ought to try in Boston and Cambridge. I've tried to mine all I can from the board, but it's too much to digest so quickly. As we make discoveries, we'll post about them here.
Let us know if there are any Boston-area chow gatherings. We'd love to meet you, share travel and food stories and learn more about Boston.
Stay tuned as we gather experiences and stories, including the Tale of the Battling North-End Waitresses.
