I recently passed by Sarajevo Cebabdzinica in Astoria, and noticed they had (slightly) redesigned since my last stop there several months ago.
There is now a big "burek" sign in the window. Almost everything I know about Bureks has been gleaned from this site, these were a bit different from those that I have had elsewhere (including those round ones w/ the sour cream on top..as well as what appears to be a distant cousin-- the bureca[from that place in Rego Park]).
These were tubular and bit oilier than the others but quite yummy. I only tried the meat variety, and they charge by the pound and appear to be made in-house (big trays of them on the re-located counter.
I also, had a great platter of beef sausages w/ Avjar--the WONDER Condiment (which deserves its own post)
Definitely worth a trip, imho. Are these another regional variations to bureks that i am missing?
