Bumpy pie crust

How do people make a fruit pie with a nice smooth top crust? I just took a blueberry pie out of the oven, and although it looks and smells wonderful, the top crust is all bumpy because of the little bumpy blueberries underneath! IDK, maybe that just makes it look more endearingly homemade. But pies in bakeries never have bumpy top crusts. Suggestions?
