I am having dinner tonight at Bumpkins Restaurant in Toronto. It has always been one of my favorite places, back when it was on Parliament Street. I have not been there in a few years. Last time I was there, the food was good, but not as good as I remembered. Still,it was (and remains) one of my original "haunts". I recall a cornish hen-it was just superb. The bread was always very good. The coffee was great. I don't recall desserts being very out-of the ordinary. They had great soups. I'll try it again tonight. ( I recall the Escargot-boy were they a treat!!) The value (money) has always been above average.
