My girlfriend & I have a running joke that we never seem to have a good dining experience out together but who would of thought Liberty Cafe, Sunday evening would be a waste of time (& $)?? Oh well, it was both.
First, we were offered our choice from the two worst tables in an almost empty restaurant (no, they don't take reservations). We took the slanted table next to the wait station & I kindof thought 'is the bad restaurant mojo starting?'.
Next my wine had cork in it so had to be strained.
At this time, another couple comes in and are seated at a fourtop in the window--the bad mojo is working but even though noted, I'm still fine about everything until the waiter approaches the table while I'm halfway through my caesar and we've been at the restaurant for maybe 15 minutes and says, "Your entree is ready, I don't mean to rush you but do you want it now?"
Or I could have it sit under some heat lamp--hmmm, rushed with calamari or rushed, and calamari that has sat. hmmm.
That's when I realized that I would never, ever have another Liberty pot pie. Food in SF is just too good & too competitive for this crap. I'll miss you la Liberdad but alas, you've changed.
