I bake a lot of bread, and go through bread yeast pretty quickly. I was able to get 1 lb compressed vac-packaged sacks of it at HEB for the last few years, but they don't seem to carry them anymore. Aaargh! Those 1 tbsp packets of yeast, and the 4 oz bottles are vastly overpriced on a per/lb basis.
Where in town can I get those 1 lb blocks? (Or maybe there is an HEB around that still carries them?) Yes, I know Costco and Sam's Club have them, but I'm not a member, and I'd rather not have to beg off from a member.
C'mon. SOMEONE must carry them for walk-ins.
