While discussing the pros and cons of each kind of crab with a distinguished, elderly man at the 99 Ranch Market, he said "The best place to get crab is at Asia Buffet--no cooking, no cleaning. I eat 5 pounds of crab legs each time I go, and it costs only $12.59." Oooo, intriguing!!
Well husband doesn't do buffets, especially when the word "Asia" is attached (too many bad experiences). So, I was on my own for this one. To my great surprise, many of the dishes were very good. The place was packed, so the food kept coming out and was piping hot.
The fried (or sauteed) Blue Crabs were scrumptious, sweet & succulent. I ate LOTS of those. The Walnut Shrimp was perfectly cooked, and really delicious. The Barbequed Beef Ribs were excellent.
The crabs legs were not thrilling (water-logged and lacked flavor). The Fried Squid was very tasty. The mussels were good. The clams were okay. The Clam Chowder was disgusting (no surprise). They also serve sushi, salads, fried chicken, etc.
All in all, a great meal (ate more than I should have!) and just $15.00 including tip! Whether or not I can get my husband to go is another thing altogether!!
