Had dinner at Sola in Bryn Mawr which is under new ownership. The meal was great. The food not only looked good, it tasted fabulous. I started with a salad of roasted beets and blue cheeses (a great combo) which was layered with greens. It was delicious. My husband and daughter had corn soup with lobster and they loved it. Prior to receiving our appetizers we got a complimentary taste of a seasoned goat cheese that went well with the toasts that came in the bread basket.
For dinner I had salmon which I asked not to have any pink in the center. It was done to perfection - just the way I like it. My husband had a steak, something he rarely orders out, but it came with a sauce that he thoroughly enjoyed. Our daughter is a sort-of vegetarian and they took an appetizer of gnocchi and made it a dinner for her. She said it was delicious.
Dessert was also good. Its BYO, which we love. The service was excellent, very attentive and informative. Prices ranged from $24-39 for main courses and up to $10 for appetizers. Its a fine dining setting where the meal is totally lovely. I wish the new owners good fortune and continued success (it was hard to get a reservation for Saturday night). They've earned the kudos.
