Brunch redux

kschnee | Aug 9, 2003 05:13 PM

So what're folks' latest recommendations for brunch? Don't want to go too upscale and expensive, or too downscale and greasy -- really just have a hankering for a really yummy Belgian waffle or French toast (sorry, are we still calling it Freedom toast?).

Places near Brookline/Newton get extra points.

That said, I keep hearing how good Mike's City Diner in the South End is. Are the lines still really long during August? Is the food worth waiting for? (There are few places on earth we will wait more than 20 minutes for a table -- the only one I can think of offhand is Sally's Pizza in New Haven, CT.)
