Had a very nice sunday brunch at Prose in Arlington. At 1:30, only two (of the six) tables were occupied. We started with golden raisin scones, which were big, hot out of the oven, and very flaky and buttery. This was followed by a smoked trout dish, which was very good, and an outstanding roasted beet dish with braised cabbage, pomegranate seeds, and a few other types of vegetables in a flavorful cream sauce. My only complaint was the coffee had obviously been sitting for a while and was a little burnt.
The prices were quite reasonable considering the quality of the food, with the starters costing $5-$8 and the entrees between $8 and $12.
