Brunch places on the Blue Line – your take?

Opportunivore | Oct 3, 2003 12:47 PM

Having previously inquired about restaurants on the Blue Line serving good food on Sunday afternoons, I'm now seeking comments on:

Lula Café
Hilary's Urban Eatery
Bialy Café
Silver Cloud
Flying Saucer

I'm looking for good breakfast or comfort food made with fresh and wholesome ingredients. (Whole grains, fresh-squeezed juices, fresh fruit, organic whatever, that sort of thing.) Superb pancakes are a big plus. I plan to eat around 2-3 pm on Sunday, so places that serve late brunch are probably better, but non-brunch options would work too.

Here's the rub: Since I'll be stopping to eat on my way from downtown to O'Hare, I'll be toting a duffel bag. So anywhere that's really cramped probably isn't going to work.

I would appreciate any comments about whether the above-mentioned places would suit my preferences. Of course, if my choices are awful, I'd be grateful for alternatives.
