Brunch at The Heights/St. Louis

We've been getting a little bored lately with our usual Sunday brunch options...today we tried The Heights, a new-ish restaurant/piano bar type place on Jefferson & Shenandoah (in the Fox Park/Benton Park neighborhood).
We were darned happy. Brunch is just under nine bucks, something like 8.95, drinks extra...and while there isn't a plethora of items to choose from, everything was very good. Scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits and some terrific sausage gravy, pancakes, french toast, and a quiche-type thing in a puff-pastry shell which was wonderful. Lots of fruit, bagels, cinnamon toast, etc. The only thing I wasn't entirely satisfied with was the french toast which had become a little leathery (probably an unavoidable steam-table complication). My dining companions were a vegetarian friend and my five-year-old daughter, and we were all very happy with the selections. The room itself is very pretty, and they have lovely big, comfortable chairs. Traffic flow is a little awkward, but the staff was very helpful and friendly, and I don't mind having to step aside for a moment so another diner can reach the pancakes. Judging by the quality of the food, I will very likely give them a try for dinner ASAP, but I can already tell you that we're returning there for brunch next Sunday and probably taking friends.
