I've fallen in love with the brown basmati rice I found in the bulk section of Berkeley Bowl. It has a few grains of black rice included, to make it look exotic.
I soak it in a couple of cups of water for an hour or so before cooking. It has a slightly crunchy texture. In the past couple of months, my favorite dish has been using it as a base for a chicken curry made with lots of hot curry powder. I don't remember where I got the recipe for the hot cp, but it packs quite a punch.
Anybody have any other dishes using it?
