Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory Dissapointing....

Captain Yum-Yum | Jul 4, 2004 02:37 PM

I finally ventured over to the drenched in accolades Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory. I fail to see the big deal. A half hour line that was unnecessary due to only 2 people servicing. It was busy no doubt, but did someone forget to tell them this is a holiday weekend and it just may be busy. Someone should remind them this is New York City the place of the NY minute. As a native NYer I want things fast and excellent. But when I got to the counter the choices are lacking to the tune of 8 flavors and nothing groundbreaking Chocolate Chocolate Chunk whoa! Peaches and Cream who would of thought. Once I had purchased the Ice Cream all could be forgiven if it lived up to its boast of America's Best Ice Cream. Yet it did not. Passable gourmet ice cream, Haagen Daz may be better. And there are plenty of other places that make ice cream comparable or better. If one was ever in Bay Ridge do not pass up the homemade ice cream at Anapoli, a throwback diner, family run with a garden. No to mention the Gelatos joints in Bensonhurst and Soho.
