Went to Blue Ribbon for the first time last night with the fam for an anniversary dinner. The first thing I want to say about this place is that the service is AWESOME! My dad is very difficult; he ordered whelk, which he had never had before, and they taught him how to eat it, and when one got stuck in the shell, they brought him a replacement. By the way, he loves whelk now. My husband and brother had whole fish, catfish and maybe chilean sea bass, and they both loved it. The calamari appetizer was excellent. Mom and I got the lobster, which was quite good. Dessert, creme brulee and profiteroles were excellent. The only bummer about the place is the ambience is a little ick. Loudish bad eighties music, and a little gimmicky (we were trying to go to Al Di La but they were packed, and the atmosphere at Al Di La is a little more our style). But I reiterate, the service is great, fabulous, wonderful.
