Had a couple of good slices of pizza at Via Via on Beacon St in Brookline, on Saturday as the snow was beginning to fall:
1) white pizza with mushrooms, ricotta, and spinach
2) eggplant (baked, not fried) + fresh tomato slices
Good thin-ish crisp crust, very flavorful. Very generous on the toppings. The eggplant slice was a little sloppy, tons of juiciness from the eggplant and tomatoes.
Cost: ~$2.75 per fairly large slice.
The place was empty, but pretty much everything was empty that day except the supermarkets. And the smell of their wood-burning brick oven was pervasive, maybe having some exhaust problems.
This is no Regina or Santarpios or Figs or Upper Crust or Emma's or Pepes or ..., but it's a decent lunch if you're in the area.
Has anyone tried their rotisserie chicken? The menu made it sound pretty good...
