Sietsma said that this Puerto Rican restaurant, at Tremont and Mapes, was the best Latin restaurant in the city, and others on this board have liked it, so I took advantage of my day off yesterday to go up there to try it. I got the lechon with rice and beans. Am I missing something? There was really nothing special about it. The lechon was pretty dry, and the rice and beans were unremarkable. There was a nice garlic sauce that they gave me, and that and liberal dousings of hot sauce made the meal palatable, but really not worth the #1 ranking in the city for. Is this just a question of taste, or did I order the wrong thing?
