Bronx Burger - New Haven

I stopped by this newish place on Saturday afternoon. Same layout as the old Goodfellas, similar attentive service. Lots of topping options for the burgers, and lots of specialty sandwiches to choose from. Since it's a burger place, I ordered a burger, with roasted pepper, my companion had a sausage, pepper, and provolone sandwich. The burger was char broiled, and came out with a pink center as I asked. It was a generous size on a brioche style bun, however, the patty itself the standard selection from the food service vendor's order form. I've had this same burger at other places, same dryish and almost tasteless variety. You'd think a place that identifies with burgers would grind and form their own. The fries had that odd burger king style coating, sized somewhere between shoestring and steak fries, I assumed these were not made on the premises either. The sausage sandwich, tho was excellent. Snappy, flavorful, with the right amount of prov. $8 for the burger and $9 for the sausage. And why were they tuned in to a redsox game delay? It's BRONX burger, right?!! Anyway, the other sandwiches sounded and looked good, just don't expect much from the burgers
