Broken-hearted Wolverine making the best of the situation...

Hello Chowhounds;

In August I'd booked a speculative trip to New Orleans expecting to see my beloved Meechigan boys in the Sugar Bowl, but to my complete and utter dismay they somehow managed to lose 2 games. But I promise they'll put a whuppin' on the Trojans and put the Bayou Bengals on the throne!

So anyway, slight change in plans. I'm taking my wife to New Orleans for her birthday mid-January. After doing our due diligence on your most excellent board, we've come up with the following battle plan:

Friday Lunch - Galatoire's
Friday Dinnner - ????

Saturday (Birthday) Lunch - Bayona's
Saturday (Birthday) Dinner - Brigtsen's

Is it reasonable to do Bayona & Brigtsen's on the same day, or madness? We're staying in FQ. If any one of these 3 has to go, I guess it would be dinner at Brigtsen's because of the distance. Big mistake? Should I juggle things around? We're from Chicago, so we want to stay with regional cuisine.

Any suggestions on a light dinner Friday night? Also, any suggestions for shopping for my wife - she enjoys little knickknacks for the home.

Go Blue mes amis!
