BROILING DEBACLE..

bill | Sep 9, 2003 08:31 AM

I have a recurring problem when I broil: the piece of fish or meat that I'm broiling (gas oven) often catches on fire. Obviously, the marinade ignites, but how do I avoid this ? The marinade usually contains olive oil or sesame oil or soy sauce -- could that be it? Should I wipe of all excess before broiling ? Or, does this mean I'm placing the food to close to the flame ?

Thanks for any advice...

Bill
