I have a tiny oven, the kind with a broiler draw that pulls out at the bottom. Sounds good, or maybe not. Actually, not. It doesn't work. The flame (it's gas) is too close to the food and too hard to control. The last time I used it I almost burned my house down.
So I'm looking for a broiler alternative.
I've narrowed it down to two broad options: 1) a counter top portable broiler like this one from Cuisinart --- http://www.cuisinart.com/products/toa... 2) an outdoor grill that I can use all year round, keeping in mind that I don't have a lot of outdoor deck space and also live in a cold and snowy climate.
I'm leaning toward the outdoor option but am looking for suggestions from the experts here.
I'm not interested in a George Foreman-ish device.
